APW - Hamilton, Grade 922 Masterpiece, 23J, 12S, 18K gold OF original Hamilton case with initials to rear, signature banner inside rear, gold cuvette with 1931 Sherwin Williams Co. presentation, silvered dial with applied gold numerals, SW-SS, fully capped lever escapement, jeweled barrel arbor, bull's-eye pattern nickel damascene, s#3012174. Gross weight of assembled watch 41.4 dwt (64.6 g). An excellent example of this top grade dress watch that comes with its original Hamilton box with certificate bearing an original $250 price (a staggering sum in depression era America) and a correctly matched marking of movement and case serial numbers. Watch also comes with a small Hamilton "The Care of Your Watch" booklet as well as with an 8.5 inch gold-filled chain as pictured.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, crown must be given a bit of downward pressure while turning or winding will disengage, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some whitish toning of plate surfaces, some typical mild fine to micro-fine scratches; nearly flawless dial with few very mild micro-fine scratches and minuscule surface spots; nearly mint hands; case shows little wear, some marring to rear opening lip giving it some small sharp points, ding to lower rear perimeter, few mild lesser dings to upper rear perimeter, good engraving detail; tight bow, crown shows light wear; good glass crystal; box shows light wear with some typical exterior scratches and abrasions. Chain shows ample wear with majority of its surfaces worn through to brass.
